Ramon Gabriel Alvarez, a native of Central Texas, graduated C.E. Ellison High School in 1997, and attended Central Texas College for General Studies before acquiring an EMT-B certification. Ramon went on to attend the Firefighter Academy at TEEX in College Station in 2003.
After fighting fires for more than three years, Ramon accepted a position with the City of Killeen as a Code Inspector. In 2012, he then accepted a new position with the City of Killeen as its first Environmental Specialist and Officer. Ramon has held numerous other certifications such as a Certified Construction Inspector, Certified Floodplain Manager and Certified Erosion Inspector. Ramon is also a graduate of the Citizen's Police Academy, Leadership Killeen and Leadership Central Texas programs.
Previously, as one of the founding members of the Hispanic American Chamber of Commerce Central Texas, he served on its Board of Directors from 2010 to 2013. Also, from 2011 to 2015 he served as a Board Member and Vice President for the Greater Killeen Young Professionals, Fort Hood Area Habitat for Humanity and as a Commissioner on the City of Killeen Planning and Zoning Commission for the past 3 years. Currently Ramon serves on the City of Killeen Community Development Advisory Committee and continues to serve on the Community Service Committee for the Greater Killeen Young Professionals.
In 2008, Ramon married Alyssa Nelson, local business owner and they welcomed their daughter, Kensley Rose, in 2010. Ramon is passionate about giving back to his community and is excited to put his passion and knowledge to work for you.
